"Evil goes up in Ash"

Films: Evil Dead (1981), Evil Dead 2 (1987), Army of Darkness (1992)

Alias: Deadites, Kandarian Demons, Evil Trees, Flying Deadites, Evil Ash, Army of Darkness

Type: Mystical

Location: Haunted home/Forest/Civilized area

Height/Weight: Ranges from that of an average human to that of a large tree.

Affiliation: Evil

Summary: There is no tome more feared in the world of horror than the Necronomicon. This thing has caused more trouble than should be possible, and the same people can't seem to escape its wrath. But if evil's going to get crazy, the good guys might as well follow suit.

History: Somewhere in a cabin in the woods of Tennessee, someone dared to pry open the secrets of the Necronomicon Ex-Mortis (or Naturan Demanto), an ancient Sumerian book made from the flesh of man, and filled with incantations of the dead. He left behind audio recordings of the text, and anyone who plays them risks unleashing pure evil in the form of possessed "Deadites" and all sorts of demonic depravity. The only person to see all of this and survive it has been Ashley Joanna "Ash" Williams. To give you an idea of how equipped he is for all of this, he replaced a missing limb with a chainsaw.

Notable Kills: Some victims of the Deadites end up exploding in a literal geyser of blood.

Final Fate: Ash has beaten the evils of the Necronomicon over and over. Even after being sent back to Medieval times and helping the populace overthrow an Army of Darkness led by his evil clone, he always comes back for more. Hail to the king, indeed.

Powers/Abilities: Possession.

Weakness: A Deadite can only truly be killed by total dismemberment. Also, there are some counter spells for the Necronomicon.

Scariness Factor: 4.5-Whatever was in those pages gave rise to some of the most visceral and depraved demons around. If they're not taking a refuge in audacity, they're tearing people apart in showers of blood. But as long as there is ash, there will be fire to burn away the evil.

Trivia: -The first film was the result of Sam Raimi, Robert Tapert, and Bruce Campbell trying to get their then-dead end lives out of the wringer by making a short "prototype" film known as "Within the Woods". What followed would define their careers forever.

-The Necronomicon was the brainchild of famed horror writer, H.P. Lovecraft. Some were even convinced that it was a real grimoire, with many requesting that it be brought to them. Probably not a good idea.

If that's the fate of all Deadites, I want out of these woods now.

A bloody night was surely to be had.

"Let me out! There's nothing but copies of an anime known as Boku here!"

And now, the shift in tone begins. Sorta.

Wrong movie, jerks!

To think, this started it all.

Of course you're low on gas. Welcome to Medieval times. They suck in more ways than one.

"Let us go, new best friend!"
I guess whoever made this saw into the future.

Wait until he learns what kind of tree is this. It IS Evil Dead, after all.

Simple. Through the power that remains in the human sprit. Also, some of the Ripple.

Skeletor's lesser known cousin was actually a bit more sucessful in his own way.
Is this in the same realm as the Creeping Terror?

Let it flow...let it flow...

Confused? Just watch the film.

"Lindsey Lohan?!"

Okay, Japan. WHAT?!

There's a reason Papyrus doesn't want his extended family around.
Hey, look! A haunted blood-stained cabin! Let's build a house over it!

It's never over...not here...not ever.

Whoever drew this is hanging his head in shame.

Lay off the souls, you Kandarian jerk!

Who needs Thor's hammer when you can grab his chainsaw?

"Um...yay?"
